Another Day In Paradise

It's already been just over a year since I've updated this thing! I got a serious memory problem everybody, I'm telling ya. Can we say Alzhiemers disease? Moving on, all is well in the glorious life of Brandon Sisk. I'm kicking ass in school, though I was doing better, and have started to slack off a bit. I know, I know, bad Brandon!!! I haven't written any fanfiction since the start of summer, but what do you expect? I put out one of the best fight scenes ever written in a fanfic (if I do say so myself), and only got like 5 reviews. Granted, I don't write solely for the reviews, but I AM a writer (at least in my imagination), and writers do tend to care to some degree about feedback for the work they've done. I'm still watching anime, and am proud to say that I am fully up-to-date on the Naruto and Bleach series, thank you Kenya-chan and Nita-sama! I have also seen the Death Note, Samurai 7, Full Metal Panic, and Hajime no Ippo anime respectively.

My current anime of choice now are (other than Naruto Shippuden and Bleach of course): Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood - a remake of a good anime series that includes an entirely different plot, which is actually closer to the manga plot, and characters from the manga version that were never seen in the original series. This is truly an example of a good series re-made into a great series, and I definitely suggest it to any FMA fans, or anime fans in general. Nabari no Ou - a ninja series similar to Naruto, but takes place in a more modern Japanese setting. While the plot is not particularly outstanding (in terms of originality), the characters are what make this series. There are plenty of good characters here to choose from, and the main character in particular is the most interesting (I've never seen a main character that didn't really give a damn about the things going on around them, or that they were involved in). I recommend giving it a shot if your into action and ninja series and all that jazz. Inuyasha the Final Act - bow down and hail the return of Takahashi-sensei's masterpiece (I said bow down bitches!). Picking up where it left off, this anime is a continuation that is supposed to cover the rest of the events in the manga, which were not covered in the first anime series. So we can expect a lot of action reminiscent of the manga, and NO FILLERS (YAY to no fillers)!

As for manga series, I am still into the Tenjou Tenghe series, though I am thoroughly befuddled by the twists that it has taken. Sworn enemies have turned into wanted allies now, and guys who were supposed to be dead (or did die) are still kicking, literally! Combined with the deaths of some memorable characters (no, I won't say any names), and you have an officially confusing, yet still entertaining series. Another current manga favorite of mine is Hajime no Ippo - yes it is still going and I am still following. I finished the anime series, and then watched the continuation that was made, A New Challenger, and now continue to follow the journey of Ippo and his friends/rivals through the manga. This is still a classic among classics, and I still highly recommend it to anyone who likes not just sports, but good quality anime in general. I'm also still following the Berserk series, which aside from its horrendously long chapter updates, has some wonderfully detailed artwork and is still another classic series that is worth checking out. I'm still following the Shamo series, which like the one I just mentioned, has some ridiculously long update periods, but is capped off with an entertaining storyline and some beautiful artwork. Last year, I finished the Sanctuary series, which is considered (and rightfully so, in my opinion) the Godfather of Japanese manga. The plot is amazing (full of twists and turns), the artwork incredible, and the characters intriguing. You couldn't ask for much more in a manga series, and I highly recommend it.

There's a remake of the Dragonball Z series out, called Dragonball Kai, but I'm not quite sure if I'm going to watch it or not. Well, that's all for now ladies and gentleman, check back for more blogs in the near future. The VERY near future, lol.

Still Ticking!

Konnichiwa Bitches!!!

Man, I really gotta remember that I have an account here, lol. This entry is a stark contrast to my last one, sorry, mood got in the way. *Shrugs* Why the hell am I apologizing, no one comes here to read this crap anyway. *Sighs* I'm so unimportant!!!! Anyways, for those that are absolutely bored enough to read this, all is well in Brandon's world. Well, a few things could be better, but it's all good in the hood. Still working and getting a paycheck, still watching anime and reading manga, as well as writing fanfiction and working out at the local gym 2-3 times a week in my spare time. Yep, I'm alive and healthy, so that makes me a pretty happy guy right now.

I am concerned with the slow decay of the current economy though. I mean how irresponsible is our government to let shit get this bad. Don't we put them in office so the country could PROSPER and THRIVE, rather than struggle and drown. Freakin politicians got they're heads so far up their assess bitching about who's right and who's wrong. NEWSFLASH ASSHOLES, there are people out here broke, starving, and barely keeping their heads above water (in some places, literally)! Hey, here's a crazy idea, how about all the republicans stop acting like 5 year olds fighting over the last cookie in the cookie jar, and worry about getting the country and our economy back in order. Maybe then we might be interested in hearing some more of their empy promises about what they'll do if we put them in office.

Moving on, my current anime interest right now is Hajime no Ippo. Sweet Jesus, this is one awesome anime series. The fight scenes are absolutely beautiful (and in some cases funny), the comedy is hilarious and the storyline overall is entertaining. It's definitely worth checking out if you haven't already. I don't have a new manga series, so I'll just comment on one I got into recently, called "Shamo". This is not one of those "feel good, Jackie Chan meets Chris Tucker" type series. This one is dark, gory, and downright disturbing. But the fight scenes are very detailed, the artwork is pretty good, and the characters are anything but boring. If you can get past the blood and rape scenes (or deal with them, the rape scenes are quite sparse), then it's a good read that will leave you wondering what's gonna happen next.

Well, that's all for now, holla!!!!

Love is a bittersweet thing

That title above says it all. I mean, can someone please tell me how a woman can do wrong (by her standards) and then make you feel bad for getting upset?  You give all you can to a person, open yourself up to them in ways you once SWORE you never would, in order to avoid further heartache. And what happens? They spit it back in your face and then tell you "if you don't like it, then oh well, I could care less." I really, REALLY want to go back to the days where I felt NOTHING, and was distant even to my own family. Only a promise to a good friend of mine keeps me from doing it, because she remembers what it was like to see that side of me. I swear, dealing with women nowadays, I can honestly see what Usher is saying in his song "moving mountains." You tell them things and you do things for them, and it's like it never even register. And if you push too hard, or find yourself getting frustrated or upset at them, it's all of a sudden something you, as a man, have done wrong. *Sighs* Well, if you'll excuse me fellas, I'm gonna go over hear and push Mt. Everest.
