Another Day In Paradise
It's already been just over a year since I've updated this thing! I got a serious memory problem everybody, I'm telling ya. Can we say Alzhiemers disease? Moving on, all is well in the glorious life of Brandon Sisk. I'm kicking ass in school, though I was doing better, and have started to slack off a bit. I know, I know, bad Brandon!!! I haven't written any fanfiction since the start of summer, but what do you expect? I put out one of the best fight scenes ever written in a fanfic (if I do say so myself), and only got like 5 reviews. Granted, I don't write solely for the reviews, but I AM a writer (at least in my imagination), and writers do tend to care to some degree about feedback for the work they've done. I'm still watching anime, and am proud to say that I am fully up-to-date on the Naruto and Bleach series, thank you Kenya-chan and Nita-sama! I have also seen the Death Note, Samurai 7, Full Metal Panic, and Hajime no Ippo anime respectively.
My current anime of choice now are (other than Naruto Shippuden and Bleach of course): Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood - a remake of a good anime series that includes an entirely different plot, which is actually closer to the manga plot, and characters from the manga version that were never seen in the original series. This is truly an example of a good series re-made into a great series, and I definitely suggest it to any FMA fans, or anime fans in general. Nabari no Ou - a ninja series similar to Naruto, but takes place in a more modern Japanese setting. While the plot is not particularly outstanding (in terms of originality), the characters are what make this series. There are plenty of good characters here to choose from, and the main character in particular is the most interesting (I've never seen a main character that didn't really give a damn about the things going on around them, or that they were involved in). I recommend giving it a shot if your into action and ninja series and all that jazz. Inuyasha the Final Act - bow down and hail the return of Takahashi-sensei's masterpiece (I said bow down bitches!). Picking up where it left off, this anime is a continuation that is supposed to cover the rest of the events in the manga, which were not covered in the first anime series. So we can expect a lot of action reminiscent of the manga, and NO FILLERS (YAY to no fillers)!
As for manga series, I am still into the Tenjou Tenghe series, though I am thoroughly befuddled by the twists that it has taken. Sworn enemies have turned into wanted allies now, and guys who were supposed to be dead (or did die) are still kicking, literally! Combined with the deaths of some memorable characters (no, I won't say any names), and you have an officially confusing, yet still entertaining series. Another current manga favorite of mine is Hajime no Ippo - yes it is still going and I am still following. I finished the anime series, and then watched the continuation that was made, A New Challenger, and now continue to follow the journey of Ippo and his friends/rivals through the manga. This is still a classic among classics, and I still highly recommend it to anyone who likes not just sports, but good quality anime in general. I'm also still following the Berserk series, which aside from its horrendously long chapter updates, has some wonderfully detailed artwork and is still another classic series that is worth checking out. I'm still following the Shamo series, which like the one I just mentioned, has some ridiculously long update periods, but is capped off with an entertaining storyline and some beautiful artwork. Last year, I finished the Sanctuary series, which is considered (and rightfully so, in my opinion) the Godfather of Japanese manga. The plot is amazing (full of twists and turns), the artwork incredible, and the characters intriguing. You couldn't ask for much more in a manga series, and I highly recommend it.
There's a remake of the Dragonball Z series out, called Dragonball Kai, but I'm not quite sure if I'm going to watch it or not. Well, that's all for now ladies and gentleman, check back for more blogs in the near future. The VERY near future, lol.
